Frequently Asked Questions
An IP camera is a digital CCTV camera that sends and receives video over a local network or the Internet. It allows remote viewing on a computer, smartphone, or tablet, provides higher-quality images than analog cameras, and supports advanced features like AI-powered video analytics
A DVR (Digital Video Recorder) records footage from analog CCTV cameras onto its internal hard drive. An NVR (Network Video Recorder) is designed for IP cameras, receiving and storing video over a network. Both record footage, but NVRs are specifically built for IP-based systems.
Analog cameras record locally through a DVR and do not require internet. IP cameras typically use an internet connection for remote access but can also record and store footage locally without internet.
Bandwidth depends on resolution, video quality and the number of cameras. For example, HD cameras use less, while 4K cameras need more. The more cameras you add, the more bandwidth your network will need. On average, an IP camera consumes between 2 and 8 Mbps, depending on resolution, compression and frame rate. Our Security Experts can help determine the optimal setup.
Yes. IP cameras can be accessed remotely via a smartphone, tablet, or computer through an app or web browser. Multiple users can view footage simultaneously, depending on network capacity.
